When you were younger, did your parents ever send you away for the summer? What was the experience like?
Brought to you by the movie Georgia Rule.
They sent me to my estranged grandma's house. She had all these rules and looked like Jane Fonda. She liked jean jackets. I remember like it was yesterday, or like somebody made a movie about it and I saw the preview on TV and in banner ads.
"There was just something about her..." it says on the inside flap. If the "her" is the lady in the pinup then the "something" is not clothing. The pinup inside the jacket (haha! "jacket," a picture of a naked lady is found in something named after a piece of clothing, how something!) is basically the picture from the cover but with approx. 85% more boobage. The big pink star that once covered both boobs is now replaced by two little white stars that cover both nipples, or, her nipples are actually white stars and the other stars on her body, the name of the book, and the cover design are all in place to hide that fact. Really, I've seen this before (on the cover, with 85% less boobage), so there's not much to say about it. She is not looking at the camera, she's laying on the floor with her eyes staring off into space so she kinda looks dead, but newly dead.
Hey, this book is written by a ghost! And not the ghost of the dead lady on the cover! In the bio they put Ghostwriter in quotes, like this: "Ghostwriter." What's that supposed to mean? Anyway some dude "ghostwrote" it. But, Pamela Anderson is "one of the most recognizable women in the world and the mother of two." I'm assuming they are referring to children and not those boobies. Ba dum bum.
Now to what really matters, the plot of the book. According to the flap I'll be learning about the trials and tribulations of one Star Wood Leigh, a 21 year old "who knows that too much of a good thing is wonderful." Wow, she must be very wise for her age, an old soul. This book promises to be "playful, bawdy, and curl your toes sexy." This is disturbing to me, I cannot curl my toes, I don't even like thinking about it, I cringe when I see others do it with their own toes. I guess when I get to something that might be sexy I'll need to skip it. Hopefully the plot will still make sense even though I may miss some important points in the sexy parts. Oh my! Points in the sexy parts! And I didn't even mean to do that!
Up next: Guess I have to actually read some of the book now.
Dr. and Mrs. Zon got me a bag o' schlock for my bday. "Star" by Pamela Anderson, a "High School Musical" DVD, and a book about "The Hills." This was either a helpful gesture or they are totally making fun of me. I decided my first undertaking would be "Star." I shall post reviews as I read through this masterpeice. My first review is of the cover, I suspect the most important aspect of the book:
At the top it says "pamela anderson." I guess that means she wrote the book. In a star that coincidentally covers some of her lady parts (her humps, or lady lumps, the front ones) it says "Star, a novel" and the a in Star is also a star. There are also stars on her body. I'm going to guess this is a book about astronomy? On the back cover in another star, it says, "Bonus pinup inside jacket!" and we also see the bar code and Pamela's legs (or gams, or walking sticks). I'm intruiged, there are bright colors, and I almost saw a naked lady. Plus, what's this I hear about a bonus pinup? Overall I give it 4 out of five stars. Hey, stars, like the book!
Next: The dustjacket blurb, about the author, and bonus pinup.

Damn, there is a serious lack of findable clips from "The Jerk" on YouTube. And yes, "The Jerk" was the first thing I thought of when I read this question, so what?
